Vi aspettiamo dalle 18.30 alle 22.00 presso Marco Gennaro architetto / Babastudio in via S. Giulia, 46 e LibellulArt - Officina Di Segni in via Giulia di Barolo, 19 con esposizione di opere e oggetti creati dai ragazzi de “La Prateria”, musica dal vivo e performances teatrali con gli artisti di “Bottega Bottoni”, aperitivo dei “Cuochivolanti”. Dalle 22.00 presso Margò in via Buniva, 9/A con “Io sono”- ritratti fotografici di Fabio Ranieri, presentazione del video “Il piacere di fare” - Baba production, sonorizzazione - Dee-jay Ego. Non mancate!!

OWLS
Last week I sewed these little owls for the Man Museum shop. My lovely flatmate Pat helped me a lot, teaching me how to cut felt, applying buttons and stuffing items, but specially drinking tea and smoking cigarettes till 3 am (the deadline was last friday, and I discovered about the initiative just some days before).

STREGHE, SPIRITI E MOMMOTTI
Sabato 31 Ottobre e 7 Novembre, dalle 18 in poi, alla libreria Dattena&Dattena, in via Sonnino 154 a Cagliari ci sarà una lettura di estratti de "Le Streghe" di Rohal Dahl in cui verranno illustrati spiriti, mostri e streghe che popolano la nostra isoletta. Portate tanti marmocchi, penseremo noi a terrorizzarli (io farò la mia parte il 31). Il tutto curato dall'associazione MONOGATARI. La locandina è stata fatta a quattro mani con giorgia aka rosadeiventi, io l'illustrazione, lei l'impaginazione. Inutile dire che la deformazione professionale è in me praticamente assente (leggi: meno indesign, più matitine) e che sono molto contenta del risultato. Speriamo vada altrettanto bene il reading!

MONOGATARI NEWBORN
In occasione della nascita della nuova Associazione Culturale Monogatari, sabato 26 settembre 2009 avrà luogo MONOGATARI NEWBORN, l'inaugurazione delle attività dell'associazione.
L'evento, che solo in modo riduttivo si può definire festa, si svolgerà presso i locali della Comunità dei Padri Somaschi siti in via dei Somaschi, località Su Burronasciu ad Elmas, e consisterà in una rassegna di varie forme artistiche: dalla pittura alla scultura, dalla danza alla musica, fino alla fotografia e alla giocoleria, non dimenticando teatro e videoarte; verranno inoltre proposti i frutti migliori della creatività e della cultura di Cagliari in questi ultimi anni.
Il biglietto d’ingresso costerà 2 euro, l'inizio è previsto per le ore 19.00 e per coloro che ci saranno e fino alle 21.00, aperitivo con dj set di Hap Collins e giocoleria a cura di Alessandra, Dario e Fabiana (Vitamina Circo e Circo Shardana).
Eventi clou della serata saranno il reading “I racconti dello Zio Sam”, letteratura americana di genere con testi di autori che vanno da David Sedaris a Chistopher Moore, passando per Chuck Palaniuk e A.M. Homes, fino ad arrivare a Ethan Coen, Cornell Wollrich e molti altri, con colonna sonora live realizzata da Nicola Pedroni e la sua ensamble; le esibizioni live di ben 3 band, di genere talmente diverso da venire incontro ai palati più esigenti, i Soft Loud, i Recs Of The Flesh e i giovani Evergreenz; la rappresentazione teatrale “La quercia del Tasso” a cura di Andrea Atzori, Marta Ceffa e Renato Piras.
Presenti, inoltre, performance di danza contemporanea a cura di Valentina Puddu, con la partecipazione di Marco Murgia e Cesare Bogazzi, video di Valentino Usai, e performance di teatro a cura di Michela Atzeni (Actores Alidos).
Durante tutta la serata sarà possibile inoltre visitare un'esposizione fotografica collettiva, con opere di MAURO ARTIZZU, EAT YOURSELF, FABIO MACIS, GIACOMO MACIS, NICO MASSA, MARTINA PIRAS, SILVIE, VALENTINO USAI ed ETTORE CAVALLI, e una galleria di opere originali degli artisti SIMONE AMBU, EISENAUER, DIAMANTE MURRU, ALESSANDRO PEDRONI, MARISTELLA PORTAS, TOSTOINI, FABRIZIO TUVERI, UOMO TIGRE.
Conclude la serata, dalle 24.00, il dj set di Neeva.

totoro
yesterday I went to the cinema, and from a wonderful front row (the showing was sold out) I saw for the first time in italian (and for the "n" time generally) the Miyazaki best creation. Originally called TONARI NO TOTORO (my neighborhood Totoro), it come out on 1985, but just recently the italian production company Lucky Red decided to translate and distribuite the movie. The preview was, in fact, yesterday, and a part of some awful translation, the italian version is a bit more childish, but not bad.
The thing I love the most about Miyazaki's direction, is his simple poetics; the way he represent the basic emotions of every human being. What shined the most by this movie, was the universal thoughtlessness that every child is supposed to have, and the way this feeling makes everything turn light or dark, without shading. I loved so much Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (the last Miyazaki's movie) for the same reason. It represent the love between childrens (childrens and marmaids, actually) in a totally pure way, and it looks like not only the director found the real essence of this feeling, but also he can communicate it just through his animated images.
And if you read some info about Miyazaki way of thinking, you will understand a lots of thing about his movies. He originally graduated in political sciences and economics, and he always let a message pass by the frames, because he think that cartoons are a strong communicative weapon.
Totoro is probably my favourite cartoon character; I remember that the first time I watched that movie, he filled me up with an incredible peacefullness, and every time that I watch it, I've got the same feeling. I also remember that the first time I used a graphic tablet (a terrible one, it was giant and useless to draw), I drew a totoro. Obiouvsly I was too lazy to draw the grass too, but that's the story of my life.
